Provides access for one individual to tour the Bear Alcove, Water Catchment, Agave Roasting Pit, as well as the standard tour of the Dwelling and Grotto areas of the Heritage Site with informed docents to help visitors understand the site and its history.

In addition to the ticket, a Federal Interagency or Red Rock Pass is required. Red Rock Passes may be purchased on site.
To purchase a Federal Interagency Pass:
In person: Find a location to purchase this pass at a federal recreation site.
Online: Purchase the pass from the USGS Store to have it delivered by mail. Digital Passes are available on Recreation.gov.

Extended tours are only held on Wednesdays outside of summer months due to volunteer availability. The nearly two-hour tour beings at 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM and includes the Grotto, Dwelling, Bear Alcove, Water Catchment, and Roasting Pit areas. Visitors will hike roughly 2 miles over uneven ground and up 70 uneven rocky steps to the dwelling site. Please be aware of personal limitations.

Visitors should plan to arrive 15 minutes before their ticket time and must check in prior to the time on their ticket. If late, site staff has discretion to limit/deny tour access.
Please have a printed or digital copy of your timed entry reservation available to be viewed at the Visitor Center. Print or download your reservation in advanced of leaving a nearby town with cell service. There is limited cell phone service at the site. All reservation holders be prepared to show photo ID.
The roads to Palatki are rough gravel roads, passable for passenger cars, drivers need to go slowly and carefully. Plan on extra time. After rain and snow, Palatki Heritage Site may be closed. Signs indicating the closed status will normally be posted at key access points.
