Kestrel Banding Tour

Lucky Peak Lake Tours and Programs

Lucky Peak Corps Employees have partnered with Boise State University to participate in an ongoing research effort pursuing data collection on American Kestrel populations. Kestrels are North America's smallest falcons and have experienced population declines in recent years. Join us for a Kestrel Banding event where we will take a small group of people to observe banding of some Kestrel nestlings! It is a unique experience with limited seats and availability only around late May to early June after we have determined Kestrel nestling presence and estimated age.

As Natural Resource Managers, we are generalists in the science community and have a wide range of stewardship responsibilities. We are lucky to have this one on our priority list! However, being a generalist can make scheduling difficult. If you are interested in a tour and there is not one listed yet this season, please call or email us at 208.343.0671 or LuckyPeakLake@usace.army.mil.
