Central Cascades Wilderness Permit - Day Use
The road is very rough and requires high-clearance AWD or 4WD vehciles. No trailers or RV's.

Forest Service Road 370 traditionally opens around the last week of July or first week of August weather/road conditions permitting. Access to this trailhead by motor-vehicle will not be possible until that time. Pedestrian/bicycle travel is allowed on the road before the gates open. Call the USFS office at 541-383-5300 for the latest information.

Day use permits are required at this trailhead from June 15th through October 15th.
Day use permits are only valid for entry on the date and trailhead listed on the permit.
Travel between wilderness areas is only allowed at Pacific Crest Trail trailheads.
Day use permits are not transferable. The trip leader must be present with the group at all times.
Some trails often remain snow covered into late June.
Campfires are not allowed above 5,700’ elevation and at additional lower elevation destinations.
Hikers and equestrians should obtain a detailed map of the area before planning a trip, and inquire in advance about trail conditions, particularly early in the season.
