Visitors arriving in vehicles no larger than 6'8" in height may park at the Hamilton Canal Innovation District parking garage at 350 Dutton St., Lowell. Parking in this garage (only) is available to National Park visitors at no cost provided they obtain a valid parking voucher at either the LNHP Visitor Center at 246 Market Street, or at the Boott Cotton Mills Museum at 115 John Street.
Many of the structures in Lowell National Historical Park are historic and were built before current accessibility standards were set. The terrain in the park may include uneven surfaces and may be difficult for visitors with mobility or visual impairments to navigate unassisted. For more information, please call (978)-970-5000.
Many of the park sites are located within several blocks in the busy, downtown. Be careful crossing busy streets, obey traffic signals, and cross at marked walks. Secure vehicle doors and windows.
Look both ways for the streetcars whenever walking (or driving) across tracks in the downtown. If driving, please do not stop on the tracks, and park clear of any tracks to allow the streetcars to pass by.
For your safety and to help preserve the historic resource, please stay on the walking path as you travel along the canalways. Keep out of any fenced areas and keep clear of the sloping ground leading down to the canals themselves.
The Boott Cotton Mills Museum is one of the park’s signature experiences and includes a functional 19th century weave room, equipped with eighty-eight working looms. Earplugs are recommended and available at the museum front desk.
Trained service animals are welcome in our exhibits and on our tours. Please select a Child ticket for them when making a tour reservation. Other animals or pets are NOT allowed in our exhibits or on our tours.
Recreation.gov does not accept payment from foreign bank accounts or travelers’ checks.

Refunds will be processed if you cancel before 12 am EST on the day of your scheduled tour. There will be $1 per ticket charge regardless the reason for the cancellation. Customers who cancel any tour after the time stated or no-shows will forfeit the tour fee.
