Peak Hour Plus Reservations -Half Day
Yosemite National Park Ticketed Entry
A reservation will be required to drive into or through Yosemite National Park on some days from April 13 through October 27, 2024, for those driving into or through the park between 5 am and 4 pm.
Beginning April 6, 2024 additional reservations will be on sale at 8am PT 7 days prior to arrival. Full day and half day reservations will be released. Half day reservations are permitted to enter at noon. The 7-day booking window is as follows,
April 6th reservations go on sale for arrival of April 13th
April 7th reservations go on sale for arrival of April 14th
April 13th reservations go on sale for arrival of April 20th
April 14th reservations go on sale for arrival of April 21st and so on.
One reservation is valid for 3 days. You do not need a separate reservation for everyday you visit.
Reservation Season Dates
- April 13 through June 30: A reservation is required from 5 am to 4 pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and on holidays (May 27 and June 19).
- July 1 through August 16: A reservation is required from 5 am to 4 pm every day.
- August 17 through October 27: A reservation is required from 5 am to 4 pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays (September 2 and October 14).
Driving through the park will also require a reservation if entering between 5 am and 4 pm. If you are planning to visit after peak hours, please do not arrive before 4 pm; vehicles blocking roads will be cited. Entrance fees are required and will be collected upon entry.
Need to Know
- Reservation Arrival Requirements
Your reservation is valid for 3 consecutive days, beginning the day of arrival reserved. Visitors arriving on foot or bicycle do not require a day use reservation. Peak hour reservations must be purchased online at Recreation.gov or using the Recreation.gov mobile app. Reservations will not be sold at the park. Peak hour reservations are nonrefundable, nontransferable, and resale or auction of reservations is prohibited.
- How Many Reservations Do I Need?
Only one peak hour reservation is required for the vehicle and all occupants. Visitors are allowed up to 1 private vehicle or 1 motorcycle peak hour reservation every three days. Reservation holder must be in the vehicle or on the motorcycle at the time of entry and prepared to show photo ID.
- Interagency and Park Pass Holders
Photo ID and Pass must be presented at entry station with peak hour ticket confirmation or will be charged the full entry fee. Please be prepared to pay with credit or debit card only.
- How To Be Prepared When Entering the Park
Please have a printed or digital copy of your peak hour reservation and photo ID available on the day of arrival and each day you reenter. Reservations are valid for three consecutive days beginning with the day of arrival reserved. Pass holders must provide Interagency or Park Pass for validation or will be required to pay the entrance fee, credit card and debit only.
- Peak Hour Entrance Hours
Peak hours are 5 a.m. PT to 4 p.m. PT. Only visitors with a peak hour reservations may enter the park between 5 am PT and 4 pm PT.
- Visitors with Overnight Reservations and Half Dome Permits
Visitors with overnight reservations in the park (wilderness permits, campground or lodging) or a Half Dome permit will not need a peak hour reservation. Have your photo ID, Half Dome or wilderness permit, campground or lodging reservation confirmation ready to show at entrance station. Entry fee is still required.
- Cancellations
If you cancel up to 24 hours in advance of arrival the reservation will be available to another visitor. Please cancel if not using reservation.The $2 reservation fee is non-refundable.
- Tickets are not transferable
