Provides access to Grand Canyon National Park's Tuweep area, all park areas within Toroweap Valley and on the Kanab Plateau, for one private vehicle or motorcycle.
Valid for one private vehicle. Be equipped to display: (1) Day Permit, (2) Entrance Pass (America the Beautiful or Standard Pass), (3) Photo ID & Highway License Plate. Must arrive between sunrise and 1 hour prior to sunset on reservation date. Valid sunrise to 30 minutes past sunset.
(1) Highway license plate and insurance required. (2) Travel with no more than 4 total vehicles and 11 people. (3) Max total length end-to-end 22 ft (6.7 m). (4) Driving muddy roads prohibited. (5) Noise limit = normal conversation; 60 dBA at 50 ft (15.2 m).
Travel under 30 mph (50 kph) and reduce tire pressure to avoid flat tires; tow service, if available, $1,000+. There is no water, gas, food, lodging, Wi-Fi, or cell service. Ensure you have adequate fuel and self-recovery items, such as tire plugs and bike pump. Carry extra water, food, and warm clothing.
Pets (leashed), bikes, and vehicles restricted to roads. Fires and charcoal prohibited; fossil fuels allowed. No hunting or collecting. No drones, paragliders, or wingsuits. Pack out all trash.
Maximum group size is 4 vehicles--all permits are void when a group obtains more than 4 permits for a date. Organized groups and special events require a Special Use Permit. Commercial use requires a Tuweep Commercial Use Authorization.
Filming, still photography, and sound recording activities frequently require a permit and must be consistent with the protection of park resources and avoid conflict with public use and enjoyment. As an ambassador, exhibit proper etiquette for visiting special areas, respect their fragile nature, and be aware of how activities have the potential to adversely impact park resources, values, or other visitors.
