Mount Rainier National Park Timed Entry Reservations
At an elevation of 6,400 feet, Sunrise is the highest point that can be reached by vehicle at Mount Rainier National Park.
Destinations include Sunrise, Sunrise Day Lodge, White River Campground, Summerland, Glacier Basin, and Owyhigh Lakes.
Pets are not permitted on any park trails. Drones are prohibited.
Learn more about Sunrise on the park’s website: https://www.nps.gov/mora/planyourvisit/sunrise.htm
Before arrival, please print your reservation or save a digital copy to your phone to be scanned at a park entrance station upon arrival. The reservation holder must be in the vehicle; photo ID required. There is no cell service at park entrance stations.
A valid single-day, annual, or lifetime pass must be presented, or a park entrance fee must be paid at time of entry. Only cashless transactions may be made at entrance stations. Photo ID required.
Reservations are valid for a 2-hour arrival window (e.g., 7-9 am). You may not enter the area prior to or after your reservation time slot. Once entered, you may stay the entire day and re-enter.
Visitors are allowed up to 1 private vehicle or 1 motorcycle reservation for Sunrise Corridor per day.
If you obtain a camping reservation for White River Campground, an additional timed entry reservation is not required to enter Sunrise Corridor. However, White River Campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Access to White River Campground is available before 7 am and after 5 pm without a timed entry reservation. Access to the campground between 7 am to 5 pm will require a timed entry reservation. Timed entry reservations do not guarantee a campsite but once a site is secured, you may use your camping reservation to exit and re-enter Sunrise Corridor anytime throughout your stay.
Bicyclists, pedestrians, White River campground, and other permit holders may enter the park without reservations as outlined in their wilderness permit, special use permit, research permit, or commercial use authorization.
Three construction projects will affect visitors to Mount Rainier National Park during the 2025 summer season. Construction information including anticipated delays and closures is posted on the park’s website at https://www.nps.gov/mora/planyourvisit/park-construction.htm. For road status and conditions information, please visit: https://www.nps.gov/mora/planyourvisit/road-status.htm
A reservation does not guarantee parking at a specific parking lot or trailhead and only provides access to a certain portion of the park. Plan to be flexible with your desired destination.
