When booking your Day Hiker Shuttle ticket, please be aware that all members of your party, regardless of age, need a ticket to ride the Day Hiker Shuttle. Shuttle buses will comply with federal accessibility standards; however, most shuttle stops east of the entrance station do not meet these standards. Visitors with mobility disabilities holding a Many Glacier Day Hiker Shuttle ticket can park in one of two accessible parking spaces near the accessible restroom on the Many Glacier entrance road and board the shuttle or self-transport into the valley. To self-transport, they must present their shuttle ticket along with an accessible placard or an “America the Beautiful – Access Pass” to the entrance staff. Parking availability inside Many Glacier is not guaranteed.
All passengers riding the Hiker Shuttle will need two things: a Hiker Shuttle Ticket and a valid park entrance pass. Entrance passes should be purchased on Recreation.gov before arrival. If you, or someone in your group, already has an America The Beautiful Interagency Annual, Senior, Access, Military, Veterans, 4th Grade, or Volunteer Pass, this pass will cover your park entrance fee. A valid park entry pass is also required for each party boarding the shuttle. These passes could include any of the following: a $35 vehicle entrance pass, good for seven days; a valid Interagency Annual/Lifetime Pass; or a Glacier National Park Annual Pass. Shuttles will stop near the Many Glacier Entrance station where park entry passes will be validated prior to entry.
Daily Hiker Shuttle Service is available July 1 - September 21, 2025.
Hiker Shuttle Tickets are timed, permitting boardings during a 1-hour window. Timed boarding windows are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:59 a.m., 8:00 a.m. to 8:59 a.m., 9:00 a.m. to 9:59 a.m., and 10:00 a.m., to 10:59 a.m. Riders are expected to arrive during their scheduled boarding window.

Day Hiker Shuttle tickets will be available seven days in advance each morning at 8 a.m., starting on June 24, and at 7 p.m. the night before entry, starting on June 30. During both booking windows, Day Hiker Shuttle tickets are released on a first-come, first-served basis only on Recreation.gov.
Shuttle tickets will be scanned when hikers board the shuttles.
Hikers without a shuttle ticket will not be permitted to ride the shuttle.
Parking areas along the Many Glacier Road will be reserved for ticketed day hiker shuttle riders only, and parking will only be allowed at designated parking locations. Only one shuttle ticket is required per vehicle and will admit all members of the party included in the vehicle.
No overnight parking will be permitted in the parking areas for ticketed shuttle riders.
Parking spaces cannot accommodate vehicles over 21 feet or vehicles with trailers.
To use the Day Hiker Shuttle service, hikers will need to obtain a day hiker shuttle ticket from Recreation.gov for their party to board the shuttle. One (1) person may purchase up to 4 tickets per $2.00 reservation. If there are more than 4 people in your party, the same person can purchase another $2.00 reservation with an additional 4 hiker shuttle tickets in the same transaction and email account for a total of 8 tickets. Hikers with a Day Hiker Shuttle ticket will park at one of the nine designated pull-outs for shuttle users to park their vehicles, along the Many Glacier Road. Hikers will board the shuttle from their parking location for a 15-30 minute ride to Many Glacier Hotel. The shuttle will pick riders up from each parking spot in the morning and then drop riders off at each parking spot in the afternoon.
As a reminder, a day hiker shuttle ticket is not needed for the outbound shuttle service, only for the inbound service.
Due to extremely limited parking during construction in the Swiftcurrent area, the park will restrict personal vehicle access into Many Glacier and provide a temporary day hiker shuttle service for hikers to access Many Glacier and Swiftcurrent from July 1, 2025 to September 21, 2025. Construction began in the fall of 2024 and will continue through mid-May 2026. The project will replace the water system at the Swiftcurrent developed area. Most of the infrastructure providing water to the area was originally installed in the 1960s. The project will also rehabilitate the road, including pavement and drainage improvements, between the Many Glacier Hotel intersection and the Swiftcurrent developed area, and address parking concerns and pedestrian safety. The construction area is closed to vehicles, bikes, and foot traffic. As a result of the construction, about half of the parking in the Many Glacier Valley will not be available.
There will be no general public entrance into Many Glacier between July 1 and September 21, 2025, without a day hiker shuttle ticket, wilderness permit, commercial service reservation, or lodging reservation. A gate will be in use at the fee booth to restrict overnight access and limit parking in the valley to reservation holders.
The only parking available during the closure will be at the Many Glacier Hotel, and will be set aside for visitors with lodging, horseback riding and boating reservations between July 1 and September 21, 2025.
Access to all trails will begin at the Many Glacier Hotel parking lot. Maps and signs will indicate detours around the construction zone. Hikers should be aware that detours may add up to an extra mile each way to hiking distances.
Visitors without a shuttle ticket, or commercial service or lodging reservation, are encouraged not to drive into the valley past Babb, there will be no parking and additional traffic will create congestion and dust. With no available general parking, hiking and biking will not be allowed on the Many Glacier Road between July 1 and September 21.
Pursuant to the American Indian Religious Freedom Act of 1978, tribal members will have access to enter Many Glacier Valley during all hours when the entrance station is staffed.
Visitors to Many Glacier with a valid commercial service, backcountry wilderness permit, or lodging reservation do not require a shuttle reservation to enter and may enter in their private vehicle. For more information on entrance procedures during the Swiftcurrent Construction Project, visit the Road Construction and Infrastructure Project Work page.
Cell service is unreliable or unavailable in and around the park. Please have a printed copy, downloaded digital copy, or screenshot of your shuttle reservation ready prior to your arrival.
