West Winds Day Use provides paved parking spaces for loading, unloading, and staging OHVs. Each parking space can accommodate one highway legal vehicle and one trailer up to 40 feet long. The West Winds parking lot is located immediately adjacent to the open sand. The facility also includes a flush restroom. Each ticket allows one vehicle & towed trailer to occupy one parking space from 6 AM to 10 PM on the printed ticket date.Need to Know
- Hours of Access
West Winds is a day use only facility. Vehicles must be removed by 10 PM.
- Vehicle Limits
Each ticket allows entry for one highway legal vehicle and one towed trailer. The vehicle and accompanying trailer must occupy the same parking space.
- Parking Rules
Park in designated spaces only. Tickets do not assign specific parking spaces. Do not park in the campground portion of the West Winds facility.
- Printed or Digital Ticket Required
Print your ticket at home or save a digital copy to your phone. Internet service at Sand Lake is unreliable. Screenshots or printouts of the confirmation email will not be accepted.
- OHV Use
West Winds is intended for OHV staging only. Parking for non-motorized recreation is located at Fisherman Day Use. OHVs and trailers that do not need to load/unload/stage in this lot should obtain a “sand access” permit.
