2024 Short Train Rides: Our short train rides will begin Saturday, May 4th for the 2024 season!
*Join us Saturday June 15th when we will offer a special tour of the Lackawanna Station Hotel as part of our 10:30AM and 2:30PM rides. No extra ticket is required outside the normal train ticket.*
They will operate on Saturday and Sunday in May and Friday through Sunday June 1st through November 3rd. Scheduled times of departure are 10:30AM, 11:30AM, 1:15PM, and 2:30PM on days that our longer excursion train rides are not in operation. A select number of tickets will be available for advanced purchase.
About our Short Train Rides
Scranton Limited: a 3-mile round trip ride lasting approximately 30-minutes. The locomotive travels through the rail yards, crosses the Lackawanna River, passes the historic Radisson at Lackawanna Station hotel and stops at the University of Scranton before returning to the Steamtown boarding area.
Nay Aug Limited: a 5-mile round trip ride lasting approximately 45-minutes. The locomotive travels through the rail yards, crosses the Lackawanna River, passes the historic Radisson at Lackawanna Station hotel, passes the University of Scranton, and briefly stops on the Nay Aug bridge before returning to the Steamtown boarding area.
Caboose Experience: a short 15-20-minute ride in our historic caboose within the park boundaries. It gives visitors a chance to experience what life was like at the back of the train. This experience is included with the purchase of a Scranton Limited ticket.

Train riders are reminded to remain seated, keep heads, hands, and arms inside the windows, and to use care when stepping up or down boarding and disembarking from the passenger coach.
A select number of tickets will be available for advanced purchase on days that our longer excursion train rides are not in operation. Tour description is included online to inform visitors of all available offerings.
