Caboose Experience
Steamtown National Historic Site Tickets
A short 15-20 minute ride in our historic caboose within the boundaries Steamtown National Historic Site's railyard. It gives visitors a chance to experience what life was like at the back of the train. This experience is planned to be offered in lieu of the "Scranton Limited" Yard Shuttle on all excursion days throughout the 2023 season.
While advance purchase and registration is not available, tickets are still required for our short train rides.
- Tickets can ONLY be purchased on-site at the Information Kiosk, the day of your visit;
- Ticket sales must be paid for by credit card only, no cash sales;
- Each ticket is valid for unlimited rides for the date of purchase.
Offered Saturdays and Sundays ONLY, as staffing permits.
Beginning Saturday, May 13th and running through Sunday, November 12th;
- Due to the limited capacity for this ride, departure times will be ongoing between 10:30am-12:00pm and 1:15pm-3:00pm.

Due to its limited seating capacity, the Caboose Experience will run continuously throughout the day between the hours of 10:30am-12:00pm and 1:15pm-3:30pm.
- Seating Availability
Seating capacity is limited to 8-10 people per ride. Availability is first come, first served.
