Lowell National Historical Park Tours
Discover how the power of the Merrimack River was harnessed to power textile production in the 19th century. This tour combines a walk along the riverwalk accompanied by a park ranger with a guided visit to the "River Transformed" Exhibit at the Suffolk Mill.

Visitors can expect to spend most of the tour on their feet and and up to 1.5 miles of walking on paved paths. Visitors are encouraged to bring water.
This tour is fully accessible, however due to the distance traveled during this tour, for those with limited mobility, the Suffolk Mill Tour may be a better option when the trolley is running. Please call (978)970-5000 for more information.
Visitors are encouraged to check-in at least 15 minutes before their scheduled tour time. This tour meets at the Boott Cotton Mills Museum at 115 John Street, Lowell MA. The Boott Cotton Mills Museum is approximately 1/2 mile, 15-minute walk from the HCID Parking Garage. Please see "Directions" section included in your conformation email for other available parking options.
Tours will proceed rain or shine but may be cancelled due to severe weather or water conditions. Visitors with reservations will be notified of a cancellation via phone and cancellations will also be posted to the Lowell National Historical Park Facebook page.
Food is not allowed on the tour or inside Suffolk Mill exhibition. Water is allowed and encouraged. Water refill stations are available at the Boott Cotton Mills Museum and Visitor Center.
Restrooms are available before and after the tour begins, but will be unavailable for the duration of the tour.
