Cochiti Lake is located within the boundaries of the Pueblo de Cochiti Indian Reservation, on the Rio Grande River about half way between Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Cochiti Dam is one of the ten largest earth-fill dams in the US. Cochiti Day Use Area will implement a reservation ticket system to meet CDC, and state and local guidance related to COVID-19. A limited amount of tickets are available for advanced reservations; tickets cannot be purchased on-site. Cochiti Day Use Area is open to the public for swimming, boating and fishing. Social distancing and COVID safe practices must be followed to ensure a safe and enjoyable time while at the lake. Each private vehicle entering the day use area will need a reservation ticket. Only one day use reservation is required for the vehicle with a maximum of four (4) passengers per vehicle. You can check the status of the lake by visiting our website for more details. Please take time to ensure you follow all Pueblo regulations, and do not trespass on lands closed to public access.

Beginning on January 25, 2021 and continuing until March 31, 2021 access to Dam Crest Road (Road that physically goes across the dam) will be closed off to the public due to construction going on. The boat ramp and lake access are still open and available for reservations. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.
Annual and Lifetime passes are accepted as your reservation ticket fee. See Fees and Cancellation section for valid entrance passes.
One reservation per private vehicle with a limit of 4 passengers per vehicle – reservation holder must be in the vehicle at time of entry.
Please have a printed or digital copy of your reservation ticket available to be scanned at the park entrance station. Pass holders must provide Annual or Lifetime Pass (if applicable) for validation.

You may exit and re-enter the Day Use area only for the date on your reservation ticket.

Cochiti Lake is a NO ALCOHOL lake. As per Title 36 CFR Section 327.12 (e): The possession and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages on any portion of the project land or waters, or the entire project, may be prohibited when designated and posted by the District Commander.
In order to practice COVID safe operating conditions and avoid the arise of public health concerns, we are requiring a 24 hour advance reservation in order to gain access to the day use facilities available at Cochiti Lake. Thank you for you cooperation and understanding.
All USACE Annual Day Use Pass and all America the Beautiful pass holders will receive free tickets, $2.00 reservation fee applies.
There will be no refunds for cancellations or no-shows.
Please select your ticket type and you will be prompted to apply your America the Beautiful or USACE Annual Day Use pass information in the Order Details as you proceed through checkout. Although your pass covers the recreation fee for the day use area, pass holders are required to pay the $2.00 non-refundable reservation fee.
