Cadillac Summit Road offers a 3-mile scenic drive to the top of the highest peak in Acadia National Park. Along the way, there are scenic turnouts to enjoy the view. Parking, restrooms, a gift shop, and overlooks connected by paved walks are available at the summit. View map of vehicle reservation area here .
One Cadillac Summit Road - Daytime reservation is allowed per vehicle each day.
Reservations are per vehicle, not per person.
Vehicles must enter the reservation area within 30 minutes of the start time shown on the reservation.
Reservations provide a timed entry, but do not require a departure time.
Reservations do not permit re-entry.
A printed or digital image of the vehicle reservation is required to be scanned to enter the reservation area.
Visitors must have a park entrance pass in addition to purchasing a vehicle reservation for Cadillac Summit Road. Park entrance passes are available at the park or online at Recreation.gov .
The narrow, two-lane road winds to the 1,530-foot summit of Cadillac Mountain and has a speed limit of 25 mph. Drivers should use caution when traveling the road and must give 3-foot clearance when passing bicyclists and pedestrians.
Paved turnouts are located along the road for short-term parking to enjoy the view. Do not cross the double yellow line to pull off on the opposite side of the road.
Parking is available at the summit and Blue Hill Overlook, which is 1/4 mile before the summit.
Reservations do not assign a specific parking space.
Parking is prohibited outside of designated spaces.
Recreational vehicles and trailers are prohibited on Cadillac Summit Road.
Island Explorer does not provide bus service on Cadillac Summit Road.
