The African Burial Ground Visitor Center and Outdoor Memorial are fully accessible. The outdoor memorial has one set of stairs, but the stairs can be bypassed by going around and using a ramp. No handicapped parking is available. Service animals are welcome. Wheelchairs are available for guest use upon request .
Please be advised that visitors entering 290 Broadway are subject to airport-style security. This may include the removal of shoes and presenting of photo identification. Please plan accordingly.
The visitor center has restrooms and water fountains available on site. The outdoor memorial does not have restrooms or drinking water.
No food or drink is allowed at the African Burial Ground National Monument.
Smoking is prohibited within the boundaries of the Visitor Center and the Memorial.
Tickets are available three months in advance of the tour date starting at 10:00 AM EST. The African Burial Ground National Monument offers reservations year-round for educational groups and individuals. The Art Tour is offered in fall and winter as part of the 90-minute tours. The Memorial Tour is offered in spring and summer as part of the 90-minute tours.
